FLAT CREEK CROSSING RANCH TRAINING AND RETREAT SITE
"CONDITIONS OF USE"

Flat Creek Crossing is a near 600-acre Ranch which shares a fence line with the 5,300+ acre Pedernales Falls State Park.
The Ranch has facilities for group meetings, cabins for overnight lodging, camping facilities, swimming holes (on Flat Creek), and a ten-mile
hiking, mountain bike, and horseback riding trail.
Some camping equipment and mountain bikes are on the ranch and may be available for rental to individuals and groups using the facilities.
Also, for an extra charge, arrangements can be made for guide service, on-ranch transportation, trail rides, carriage rides, trailers for
hayrides, an Indian village, bar-b-ques, and even an occasional singing cowboy or two.
Arrangements may be made for TV/VCRs, overhead projectors and a big screen TV. There are meeting facilities for group sizes from 2 to
200 and lodging facilities for 60 people. All lodging facilities and most meeting facilities are air conditioned. Most lodging facilities are
equipped with microwave ovens and small refrigerators. In addition, there are four full kitchens on the ranch attached to meeting facilities.
All meeting facilities and many of the lodging facilities are handicapped accessible. Also, work is currently underway to make the creek
access and swimming holes more accessible to the physically disabled.
The Ranch is owned and managed by the non-profit organization, Child Incorporated, which uses it for training parents in parenting
skills and human service trainings, mental health activities, and as a part of its benefit package for its staff and parents.
When the Ranch is not in use for those activities, it may be available on a scheduled basis for use by Child Inc. staff family activities,
Child Inc. Center parent groups, other community organizations and even individuals.
While Child Inc. may simply rent the facilities, the demand is so high that it gives priority and rate discounts to those organizations and
individuals that are substantially assisting Child Inc. in meeting its priority activities and/or to organizations and individuals who have
significantly volunteered their efforts to assist in developing the Ranch and/or assisted with Child Inc.'s many other projects.
There are many types of assistance which might be valuable to Child Inc. to warrant a discount or complementary use, but prospective
users should first clearly define the assistance they are willing to provide on one or more of the objectives or project which Child
Incorporated has identified as its priorities . Simply conducting activities such as those
described in the priority activities section would not qualify an organization for…
